Heroes Of the ocean

WHAT WE DID

Whether it’s the summit of Everest or the depths of the Pacific, Rolex is synonymous with the desire to explore our world and discover what lies at the furthest reaches of our ability. But today, with climate change, these natural wonders are changing. As ecosystems shift, today’s explores are also changing. The beating heart of exploration is moving from discovery to protection.

As part of their Perpetual Planet initiative, Rolex approached BBC Global News to help them create a bespoke documentary that would tell the story of work being undertaken across the planet to protect the oceans’ fragile ecosystems.

Produced by BBC Studios’ Science Unit, Heroes Of The Ocean, is an epic, cinematic tour of the of the world’s most stunning marine environments and the people who are protecting them. From the warm blue waters of French Polynesia to the emerald green hues of Norwegian fjords, it is a spectacular immersion into our underwater worlds.
